Electronics & Communication Engineering

Ever increasing pace of development in electronics, audio and video communications systems and the automation in industry have made an electronic engineer a catalyst for the change of the modern society. Electronics gadgets and Tele-communication systems of present age have tremendously improved the quality of life. With the throughout the world, it has become essential to have more efficient communication network with the latest electronic devices and circuits.

The Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering is one of the largest departments of the institute having largest student and faculty strength. Due to its modern infrastructure and exposure given to the students, it is one of the elite departments in India.

Besides giving a thorough grounding in basic sciences and engineering subjects, the curriculum in electronics and communication engineering lays greater emphasis on deep understanding of fundamental principles and state of the art knowledge of Electronic Devices & Circuits, Microprocessors, VLSI & Embedded Systems, Electromagnetic Field Theory, Analog and Digital Communications, Digital Signal Processing, Microwave & Broadband Communications, Image Processing, and Optical Communication.

Besides these the students also learn various computer related papers. The syllabi are frequently updated to incorporate recent developments considering advancements achieved in the national and international scenario.

The students are also exposed to virtual laboratory simulation packages like MultiSim, CommSim, Ultiboard, MATLAB, LABView, Mdspice, as well as to hardware assembly and testing practices. This serves to help the students in gaining practical exposure to these developing technologies.

Undergraduate students have to successfully complete a departmental vocational industrial training & project spanning 2 semesters.

Seminars are presented by the students, which give them an opportunity to develop their communication skills. The culmination of these efforts has been the achievement of nearly 100% campus placement in various leading industries and organizations for the last years.

HOD's Desk
